Elder Home Share is Dublin’s first dedicated home-share service, founded in 2015 and completing our very first match in January 2016.
With over 10 years of experience, we’ve been helping older adults stay safe, supported, and connected in the comfort of their own homes.
We match elderly homeowners with caring home-share companions who offer company and light help around the house in exchange for affordable accommodation.
Our Story
Elder Home Share was created by Saoirse Sheridan, inspired by her close bond with her grandmother and her own experience struggling to find affordable accommodation as a mature student. She saw an opportunity for two needs to support one another — older people looking for company and safety, and responsible adults seeking a welcoming place to live.
Saoirse even home-shared herself, giving her first-hand insight into how meaningful and supportive these matches can be. That experience continues to guide the warm, thoughtful approach at the heart of Elder Home Share today.
